Hi, I’m Tammy — a pet portrait artist who works in colored pencil. I’ve loved drawing animals since I was young but, as happens to so many of us, life pulled me in other directions for a long time. I got married, raised a wonderful son, and worked a wide range of jobs to keep life moving.
Now I’m finally doing something for myself: leaning into the art that’s been waiting patiently in the background all these years. I work out of my home studio, which I share with four cats who supervise everything (usually from the middle of my current project). I also spend time with Sunnie, my beloved Foxtrotter mare, who keeps me balanced and happy.
My life is pretty quiet these days, and that’s how I like it. I’m grounded in my faith, I value the people close to me, and I always have music playing while I work — usually something with a good guitar riff and a little soul. Classic rock is my go-to, and it finds its way into just about everything I do.
I love creating art that means something to people, especially when it honors the pets we hold dear. Thanks for stopping by and getting to know a little more about me. If you have any questions, want to chat about a portrait, or just want to say “hi,” I’d love to hear from you!
