Terms and Conditions

• I will provide you with a written (emailed) quote for your desired portrait. This quote must be accepted before I will proceed with your portrait.
• A non-refundable booking deposit of 35% is required to hold your place in my commission book. By paying this deposit, you are agreeing to my full terms and conditions.
• If you have reason to cancel your portrait, you may, provided you do so BEFORE I begin it. Your deposit will be retained and can be applied towards a future commission. If you cancel AFTER your portrait has been started, I will not refund your booking fee, nor will I credit it towards a future commission. No refunds will be given once the final artwork has been completed and delivered.
• You agree to provide me with good quality reference photos. I am happy to assist you with selecting the perfect image to work from. If an acceptable photo is not available, or not provided, I reserve the right to refuse to accept your commission. In the unlikely event this happens, I will refund your deposit.
• I agree to remain in contact with you regarding the status of your portrait. If you request it, I will send you periodic progress photos (with a maximum of three). Please understand that they will be showing the art in incomplete form and will not reflect what the finished piece will look like. While I can sometimes make slight adjustments, I will not make major revisions as they are generally not possible without seriously compromising the quality of the drawing.
• Final payment is due upon completion of the drawing. Your portrait will be shipped after your final payment is received. Late payments (over 30 days from the date of invoice) are subject to a 15% late fee, for which an updated invoice will be sent. In the event that your final invoice balance is not paid in full within 60 days of final invoicing, ownership of the drawing reverts to me and I reserve the right to sell or reproduce it as I desire, and you will not receive a refund on your booking deposit.
• I retain all copyrights to my art. You may NOT make reproductions of, or use my work for any reason, either for personal use or for financial gain.
• I reserve the right to share your portrait on social media and to include it in my portfolio gallery unless you specifically request otherwise. These exceptions need to be requested in writing (email is fine) at the time of the booking.
• My work is supplied with a museum white, archival quality matt and backing, which is suitable for framing. Shipping and tracking are not included in the cost of the portrait and are added separately. I use the least expensive form available at the time of shipping, (standard ground rates) but I’m happy to expedite shipping if you need it sent sooner.
• At this time I am not set up for international shipping. I do apologize for that inconvenience.
